  • Gateway - an interactive simulation of American immigration history. Students are given roles as various European immigrants in the early 1900s. They then either become processors at Ellis Island or immigrants who have just sailed to America. Students learn the history of "old" and "new" immigration into America from 1600 to the present. They become their given role and move through various stations within Ellis Island during the culmination activity. For more information on interactive simulations, go to our page on Simulations.

  • My Family Tree - students research their family ancestry through a variety of projects from The Biography of Me: A Journey of Self-Discovery, (Good Apple Publications). Students use drawing programs to reproduce their trees and word processing to finalize their projects.

  • Kindergarten Reading Buddies - our students helped their Reading Buddies create family trees and books about their family traditions.
